NATIONAL ON-LINE CONCERT BAND EXHIBITTION
Thank you for your interest in participating in this NATIONAL ONLINE CONCERT BAND EXHIBITION. ! Your concert band can enter a PRESTIGIOUS NATIONAL Music Exhibition-and have friends, family and peers from AROUND THE WORLD view their performance! This Concert Band Exhibition is open to all Middle and High Schools, public or private.
There is a small registration fee of $100 per band to cover the cost of the nationally known adjudicator, Retired Colonel HAL J. GIBSON, awards, internet production and administrative expenses. The cost of preparing and submitting a quality video recording and purchasing concert band music arrangements will be your ONLY OTHER EXPENSE.
Just think, participate in a quality National On-line Concert Band Exhibition with very little expense, achieve NATIONAL EXPOSURE on the INTERNET for your CONCERT BAND, your SCHOOL and your CITY, and, your band will receive the EXCITING AWARDS listed below.
PLUS! This event will also provide PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT for the Band Director to improve teaching skills. HSBDNA.com and BandDirector.com will provide teaching aids, instructional papers and videos on various aspects of CONCERT BAND preparation and performance. These instructional ideas and tips are free to the Band Director!
The process is simple: YOU WILL BE GIVEN DETAILED, STEP BY STEP, INSTRUCTIONS ONLINE.
1. Register below. This will automatically set up an account for you at the internet vehicle, www.banddirector.com.
2. Download the registration form on the next page and submit with a registration fee of $100 by Feb 28, 2009 made payable to HSBDNA. (MAY BE PAID BY CHECK OR OFFICAL SCHOOL PURCHASE ORDER) to:
HSBDNA, Box 886, Fortson, GA 31808 (Fee is $150 if submitted: Mar 1– Mar 21, 2009).
3. You will be instructed on how to establish a YouTube account. (This is FREE at www.YouTube.com)
4. Record a video of your band’s concert performance. Videos of ONE, but NOT MORE THAN TWO, complete concert selections for a maximum playing time of 10 minutes must be submitted no later than MARCH 21, 2009.
5. You will be instructed on how to upload your video recording to YouTube. This process is SIMPLE and FREE.
6 YouTube will supply a URL for your video. Then go to www.banddirector.com , and add this URL to your account. This must be completed by Mar. 21, 2009 to enable the adjudicator to view and evaluate the performance of your Concert Band.
7. Your performance will be professionally adjudicated by judge, COL.. HAL J. GIBSON . Constructive recorded and written comments will be presented ONLY to the Band Director. Ratings will be announced May 15, 2009.
8. AWARDS
A. All BANDS will receive a beautiful engraved PLAQUE and a SPECIAL CERTIFICATE recognizing them as a CHARTER PARTICIPANT THIS FIRST ANNUAL NATIONAL event to exhibit in your school.
B. A DISTINGUISHED PERFORMANCE AWARD will be presented to 3 Middle School bands and 3 High School bands consisting of a new, QUALITY CONCERT BAND INSTRUMENT to support their school band program and a beautiful ENGRAVED TROPHY for prominent display in their schools.
